You cannot practice resiliency without suffering through these opportunities.
- HM1 Brusherd
Yesterday I graduated from dive school. It took two years just to make it here, and when I finally had my opportunity it was much harder than I’d ever imagined. This was a humbling experience in a sometimes brutal, high risk training. In some ways it was like starting completely over in my military career as we were put under constant pressure and stress, all while being told nothing was even close to being good enough. Sometimes it was even cruel, and that was the point. Dive school showed me what my physical and mental limits were and then asked (demanded) that I exceed them. And exceed them we did. Alongside 17 other Sailors and 1 Airmen, we made it through and became divers. Hooyah Dive School
